Tiffany Chung
Tiffany Chung (b. 1969) is a multi-media artist whose work studies the geographical shifts in countries that have been traumatized by war, human destruction or natural disaster. Based on ethnographic and archival research, her work explores world geopolitics, memory, and history. Currently based in Houston, Texas, Chung received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from the California State University, Long Beach in 1998, and her Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2000. Her solo shows include passage of time (2019) and four other shows at Tyler Rollins Fine Art, and Tiffany Chung: Vietnam, Past Is Prologue, Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington DC (2019). Group exhibitions include: Nothing Stable Under Heaven, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, CA (2018); Insecurities: Tracing Displacement and Shelter, Museum of Modern Art, NY (2016); and others. Outside of the United States, her work has recently been exhibited in Austria, Norway, Denmark, Ireland, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Zurich. Public collections include SFMOMA, CA; Minneapolis Institute of Art, MN; Singapore Art Museum, M+, Hong Kong; Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Humlebæk, Denmark; and Queensland Art Gallery, Brisbane, Australia.
