Eamon Ore-Giron

Eamon Ore-Giron (b. 1973) is a multimedia artist currently based in Los Angeles. He worked in figuration before developing his signature geometric abstract painting style. Ore-Giron blends a wide range of visual influences, including Suprematism, Latin American Concrete Art, and geometric minimalism. Ore-Giron graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1996. He received his MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2006. Born and raised in Arizona, he also spent formative time in Mexico City as well as in Huancayo and Lima, Peru. His solo exhibitions include: Eamon Ore-Giron: Competing with Lightning / Rivalizando con el relámpago at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver (2022), and Night Shade/Solanaceae, Pérez Art Museum, Miami, FL (2013). His work has been featured in group shows such as SOFT POWER (2019) at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; Made in L.A. (2018) at the Hammer Museum, CA; and Something Else, the OFF Biennale Cairo (2015). Ore-Giron was recently selected for major public commissions in New York City and Los Angeles. His work is in the permanent collections of Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, CA; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA; and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY, to name a few. In the US, he is represented by James Cohan Gallery in New York and Fleisher/Ollman in Philadelphia.
