Saya Woolfalk
Saya Woolfalk (b. 1979) is a New York based multimedia artist known for her exploration of hybridity, and science. Woolfalk uses science fiction and fantasy to reimagine the world in multiple dimensions. Woolfalk received a B.A. in Visual Art and Economics from Brown University in 2001, and earned her M.F.A. in Sculpture at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2004. Her work has been exhibited across Asia, Europe, and the United States. Key solo exhibitions include: ChimaCloud, Everson Museum of Art, Syracuse, NY (2016); In The Box: Saya Woolfalk ChimaTEK Life Products, Chrysler Museum of Art, Norfolk, VA (2014); The Empathics, Montclair Art Museum, NJ; and others. Group shows include Disguise – Masks & Global African Art, Seattle Art Museum, WA (2015); Approximately Infinite Universe, Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego CA (2013); Bunny Redux, The Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh, PA (2011). Her work can be found in the collections of several major institutions including the Whitney Museum of American Art, NY; the Newark Museum, NJ; and the Seattle Art Museum, WA. Woolfalk has delivered numerous public lectures, including a recent TEDX Talk. She is represented by Leslie Tonkonow Artworks + Projects, NY.
