Rising Sun: Artists in an Uncertain America has been extended by popular demand! Learn More
The saying goes, “rising tides lift all boats”…
As our museum sits at the border of Chinatown, in honor of AAPI month, in the spirit of Black and Asian solidarity, and as a supporting event to our newest exhibition with the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts,, “Rising Sun: Artists in an Uncertain America” , AAMP in collaboration with Asian Arts Initiative, Studio Incamminati and the Colored Girls Museum, will present an evening of panel, presentation, performance and cultural exchange with the goal of fortifying Black and Asian solidarity in America’s current climate, and discuss how identity-specific art and collective representation moves us all forward. Each presenter will uplift upcoming work and current exhibitions that you can experience in and around Philly, just before a specially moderated panel, moderated by Executive Director of Asian Arts Initiative, Anne Ishii. This evening 2021 Bennett Prize Winner, Ayana Ross will present a brief keynote address. There will be time to explore our latest exhibition, network connect, engage and exchange!
