Join the African American Museum in Philadelphia as we celebrate Native American Heritage Month. Bring your family for an intergenerational cross-cultural story time, performance, and dance class alongside Indigenous organizations We Are The Seeds and Native Nations Dance Theatre, Inc.

Native Nations Dance Theater, Inc  
The only professional Native American Indian Dance Company in Philadelphia that creates/produces performances and has traveled to parts of the world including: North America, Central Asia, Europe, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Canada and the Mediterranean. NNDT has presented on the behalf of and for the United States of America, tribal entities and nations, the government, The Kimmel Center for Performing Arts, U.S. Embassies, U.S. Mint, U.S. Military, various arts agencies, universities, elementary schools, tourism authority and members of the Royal Family of England while touring in London. We specialize in theatrical performances but we also cater our interactive musical and dance programs for auditoriums, theater, amphi-theater, multipurpose facilities, out-door venues as well as the classroom. Our award winning interactive programs includes: Native dances, explanations of the dances, hand drumming, singing, legends, and audience participation.

We Are the Seeds of CultureTrust celebrates and educates about contemporary Indigenous arts and cultures, creates expansive and holistic opportunities for Indigenous artists, and provides positive and accurate representation of Indigenous peoples.

Facilitator Tchin: 
Tchin is a nationally known artist and educator of arts and culture. Through the art of oral tradition, he tells stories portraying the creation of the world and how things came to be. In his energizing presentation, Tchin addresses important topics including cultural diversity, music appreciation, and environmental consciousness. These stories have been passed down through generations and illuminate both young and mature minds. As part of this program, Tchin will perform and explain the seldom seen or heard courting flute.
